I got my number the other day, and there was a brief leaflet included, which mentioned 3500 ft and 'at the best guess is slightly more than the marathon distance'
I had expected the climb to be more - I think SDM was about 4-4500ft, and this is supposed to be tougher.
Hipps will know!

Hoaxter--re: the map I went and bought a proper OS map and a highlighter pen and copied the poo version onto it to make my own decent route map.
Could do the same thing on line now that Google maps has finally upgraded the images for this part of the world (HURRAAYYYY!!!) and you can see the footpaths now.

I didn't them today As I sit here on the sofa, the idea of BHM is great. When I'm out running, uphill, I usually really do question my sanity over entering this thing!
Hmmmm, maybe more and better training is the answer...
