Just at the wearing around the house/garden stage, I can feel my calves!
Think I'll try a dog walk at the weekend before I run anywhere.

I got the Genesis ones, lime green of course :)

I’m using Merrells Trailglove and vapour glove as well as innov8 s on longer runs .

I like the wide toe box on trail glove though will go down half a size next time. Vapour I use for recovery and form training.

I've been jogging barefoot up and down the garden. Not far but it's a start. I've also been skipping barefoot. Again, not much but, at 57yo, changes have to be introduced very gradually.

I have been walking around on my toes again like I did as a child. Got a tight calf at the moment anyway so taking things easy.

Ishep I had a look at your blog and saw the sandals , are they the ones that you cut to size from a template?

@ultradunc They are the same ones, yes, though you can also get them ready-made, as I did. The ready-made ones are the Genesis (https://xeroshoes.co.uk/xero-shoes-genesis.html), whereas the DIY version saves you £13 and gives you a bit more scope for customisation (https://xeroshoes.co.uk/xero-shoes-kit.html)

Went for it, ran a whole ..... 0.4 miles in my Xero sandals!

Actually felt easier to run in them than walk in them.
Mixed terrain, tarmac and arable field.
Although I could feel my calves immediately after, today they feel fine.
Still have a few adjustments to make.
I'll have another go over the Bank Holiday weekend :)
