Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I'm not on any meds other than warfarin at the minute, removed flecainide and bisopralol so my RHR has gone back up to around 50.

I'm monitoring my heart rate for more or less two thirds of every day at the minute (better to have data than to go to review and have them ask how I feel and whether I've had any episodes - I can't feel or sense anything when I'm in AF). I seem to be getting little spikes at the end of runs (small number of datapoints at the minute) but nothing at all during or after biking or swimming.

I don't seem to be triggered by things like alcohol (:)) caffeine or choc

I don't think Dad self tests or self monitors. He's been on warfarin for ~18 years now though, and his dosage is regular. The AF is a new thing, in the past couple of years. And he knows when he's in AF as his heart rate goes up to 160+, and he's completely knackered. He only wears an HR monitor on the golf course...which is where he spends most of his spare time!

I don't self test or monitor - it's all done in the surgery by a nurse

I don't self test - but know when I am in AF as HR will be maybe only sl higher but quite irregular. I'm only in AF about 3/year at rest, but running causes maybe another 4-5/year

Would you like to self test if possible?

I'm not sure I see any benefit in doing it myself - I'm only tested once a month so I'm not sure that having the paraphernalia sitting around the house gathering dust would be a good use of NHS resources.

Hi, my cardioversion was unsucessful, so I now move onto an ablation, which to be honest is what I am really wanting to get done. Next appointment is June 13th. Hopefully then I can get some idea of the likely date for the procedure.
