Alcaraz is pretty special! Some of the shots he’s pulling off are just incredible

Just back at our hotel after a fab day. Alcaraz made Djokovic look quite average. He is so fast around the court and picked up some impossible looking balls, Djoko just couldn’t break through.
I think most of the crowd were hoping Djoko would win set 3 as it was so compelling to watch we’d have liked another set.
Also took my binoculars so I could spy on the royal box celebs!!

Just heard about Yulia Putintseva disrespecting a ball girl at the US Open. I first thought it had something to do with her superstition about only taking balls from one side. However, it seems that it was her chosen side but her behaviour was entirely down to her attitude.

I've only seen a brief video, but I'd make that a good case for an automatic default.

On to more positive note, and not having seen a single one of his matches, but Jack Draper has borne the fruit of the draw completely opening up for him and doing very well. Not dropped a set yet. Plays his first seed next round so it could go south quickly now I've said that.

Not just a seed but Di Minaur who's been playing very well recently - definitely a good test for Draper. The draw may have opened out with Alcaraz and Djokovic dropping early, but I'd say there's no "easy" matches left in the remainder of the mens draw for anyone.

Just as a reality check, Draper is the lowest ranked player left in.

And yet (as of now), he's 2 sets up against de Minaur. Will he hold his nerve?
