2nd session of my course last night much more actual climbing than the first week, and I'm definitely increasing in confidence. I got up a 4 and was about to try a 5 (and confident of managing it) when we ran out of time. My arms were dead after 2 hours though! There is a vague plan to head to Harrogate wall on the 19th if anyone in the Yorkshire area fancies it |

Gah! Seemed to have strained something in my right arm in the last couple of weeks climbing. Finding when I let go of a grip my arm aches and after a while I get a really painful ache in the whole arm that seems to radiate from the upper forearm / elbow. Not happy as I was starting to do 4+ and I seemed to have taken a step back 3+ as it is all I can manage at the moment Frustrated from south wales |

Had my first climbing lesson last night - absolutely loved it. Ok, the first time I went up I was nervous and felt a bit "why am I doing this?" but then it all seemed to click. Back for more next week.

Anyone know a decent wall near Market Bosworth / Nuneaton /Leicester? I'm in the area for a couple of days and fancy a climb.

JM: I think this is the nearest to Leicester area thetowerclimbingcentre.co.uk There are a few other small ones, but as they're in schools etc. knowing when you can use them may be awkward.

Cheers MM is that the one at the leisure centre? We'll give it a go. |

I don't know it myself, but there is a decent walls directory on the UKC classifieds database, and that seemed to be the only reasonable one close to that area. So I'm not sure if it's in the leisure centre or not.

A good session at Harrogate today including kit buying I'm happiest on 3+ or 4 at the moment but I did get up a 4+ before my arms got tired and I dropped back to easier climbs. I'm definitely starting to move better and more confidently now |

Saturday was beautiful - a day to head outdoors. I'd have been at a crag if I hadn't pre-arranged to go MTBing (which was also fun in its own way). Still hoping to get some more winter routes done north of the border in a couple of weekends time.... |
