Bon voyage Mandy and bonjour messieurs/dames to everyone else. I've done my 5k for the day and now it's the ironing mountain to climb before we head off to the seaside later. Happy Monday! |

Morning all. Survived GHM, but OMG that was hot, hilly and hard. Gutted I didn't see you @Carp, I did look out for you. Glad you got round ok. GH and I set off together but he was running with another club mate and I pushed on. Haven't drunk that much fluid on a run ever before. Struggled between 14 and 21, but finally found a second wind at 22 and was able to jog the last few miles, though both calves cramped up totally 300m from the end and I finished looking like a wooden puppet Note to self Do Some Bloody Running Training before a marathon |

What a shame you missed each other - well done CStar. I've just done my June Virtual Mile and managed to knock 46 seconds off last month. I heeded TB's coach's advice, went off hard and hung in as long as I could. I could hardly breath at the end so I must have done something right. No more running from me for over a week now as I'm yet another one going off to France in a couple of days. I'm just going to stick to walking and swimming while there. |

Well done AR thats a big improvement I dont know how you can run such a hard marathon on no training CStar but it says a lot about your general fitness. I hope you enjoyed it too! |

Well done CStar. Ditto what Dipps said. Hope you’re recovering today. Attempted 3 miles at tempo pace today. Ended up being a bit faster than intended but I did stop a few times. Warm, windy and uphill not best choice for first half! 😂 |

I was sorry to miss you CStar I did catch a glimpse of your back on that first hill. I had a complete mare and came in at 8+ hours (although some of that was stopping with an injured runner).

I saw on the results Carp. Seemed to be an awful lot of people in the same situation. Taking much longer than anticipated due to the heat and a few injuries. Your nursing skills will have been much in demand. I'm glad the lady who fell and hit her head is ok. I saw the air ambulance coming in and did wonder. Well done for getting round. That's all that mattered. |
