I’ve run with a dog twice. In both cases these were Irish setters, and neither mine. The second time we were looking after Mary for a friend, but the first time the dog just joined me on my run and I couldn’t shake her off, despite leading her back to her home and knocking on her owners door (they didn’t answer). In the end she came home with me and, after I’d had a shower, I drove her back and dropped her off on my way somewhere else.

That's funny, Dio.

I know this dog. He used to be a regular at parkrun.

Surely that PB does not count, McGoo, since the mutt is pulling you along!

Hope you get some rest soon, David.

If love to run more with my s-i-l's did, but generally they're just a pita. We can't do parkrunning with then anymore as they go mental at the start and hate being on the lead for the whole run.

True ITG - I felt a bit fraudulent for a while until I was fast enough non-dog-assisted to beat it.

If I were to run with Flossie I'd be even slower - she meeds to check every pee-mail on our walk 🙄

New strengthening class, same instructor this morning. Looking forward to it.

I once ran a half marathon that went through a residential area. Fairly early on a dog came out of a house and joined us. Luckily it was an out-and-back type route so we returned along the same road and he could go home. The owner was outside when we returned and said he’d wondered where the dog had got to! Must have done at least 10 miles! Seemed to enjoy it though :-)

Welcome to the 700 miles in 2020 thread, everybody welcome. The thread motto is:
