Oh dear LG, I hope the headache's not a sign of something else, are you drinking enough water? I'll be looking forward to trying a bit of gentle running and cycling in a few days as I'm going home on Friday - only 2 weeks late. |

((LG)) Just back from a 3.4 mile run across the fields. This is my new normal run - alternating with dog walking. Was a little concerned earlier as my Garmin had my resting heart rate four or five beats higher than the last few days, but I was a minute faster with same ave hr on today's run compared to Monday. Not too happy that a farmer has ploughed up two stretches of public right of way, but I can understand his concerns. Glad I'd got my trail shoes on. |

Evening gonks. 3 miles ran along the canal. Saw a dunken group of plebs stagger out of a house on our way down to the canal. Will report them as they were being a bit scary. Apart from that, most people seem to be behaving round here.

TR if they're PROW the paths be must reinstated - you are within your rights to walk along the route of the path whether he's ploughed it or not. The virus situation doesn't alter that.

LD that's what I thought, and I did run along it! Am in two minds about reporting it, am tempted to as he was reploughing them when I saw him this afternoon. But in this situation I'm not too keen about banging on about my rights when he's probably doing it to -as he sees it - protect him and his family

Well done LG; it's sure to have done you good. 2.22 hilly miles here. Passed a dog walker, and another runner (going in the opposite direction). Ferret, I left my grand-daughters with "homework" (their mother's request; she says she's been finding it hard to motivate them). The 8-year-old's was to write down all the things she wanted to know about big cats. She has come up with 18 questions. By the time we've been through all those, what the three of us don't know about Big Cats won't be worth knowing. And we will have touched on evolutionary theory, classification of animals, and epistemology (what can cats be said to "know"?) |

Assuming the path is across his field, it's quite normal and legal to plough it. It should be restated within 14 days ... unless of course, they're already flattened by then environmentlaw.org.uk But I suspect if they're ploughing now, they'll shortly be harrowing or rolling & then planting? So it may be solved over the next few weeks anyway. Farmers round here often mark the path with sticks after the crops are planted to keep people to a line, then spray a 1m path (more or less) once the crop is 6 inches or so. |
