Fragile Do Not Bend
Morning. Had an interview at 8am this morning. It included literacy and numeracy tests, which apparently is obligatory for jobs which loosely fall under the heading of ‘admin’ for this particular NHS trust, whether or not they are relevant. Literacy was really basic and easy, the numeracy was a toughie (and stressful) as it’s probably been about 20 years since I have been asked to do multiplication and division without the use of a calculator. Flipping waste of time, I have a Maths A level FFS. |

Blimey that sounds like one of those interviews you have in a nightmare the night before an interview, then wake up all relieved it wasn't't real....! Knee managed 10 miles, grumbled in the last mile. I should be grateful to have managed that far, but instead am grumpy because this week's long run should have been 22m |

Oh - and as far as mother's day is concerned... hubby is working next weekend, so said he'd cook supper last night instead. Proceeded to use EVERY pan in the kitchen, then left all the washing up because he was "tired"......

I too am not fussed about all the pa-lava that goes with celebration days. I am shattered today, really struggling to stay awake and have horrid hay fever and to top that the horrid evil yellow stuff is starting to flower in the surrounding fields. Me grumpy? Never |

Checking back after a few days away from the thread .. I drove up to see my Mum yesterday and took her out for a Mother's Day meal because I need to be around next Sunday (doing the desk at my swim club). She didn't mind as the pub we went to wasn't as busy as it will be next weekend! Lovely sunny day - warm enough for me to venture out in shorts & t-shirt for the first time this year. Mr Garmin told me afterwards I'd managed a new (cough) 'fastest pace' mile at 10:00mm pace during my 4.5ml run |

[FDNB - reminds me of the time, many years ago, I had to go through a series of tests. Turns out I was 'good with numbers' - and yes, my CV did show I'd got Physics, Pure Maths and Applied Maths A-levels, Pure Maths S-level and a BSc in ... Maths. Glad their test was accurate ...] Hope yours went well. If anyone is interested, or wants to practise before such interview tests, there's this : nnchallenge.org.uk Hmm ... thread moves from gardening to maths classes ... |

... and back to running, of which I have just done 2.2 miles up and down lots of steep hills. Fleecy - thanks for the RHS link. AR - enjoy your final ski of the year. Ferret - Simnel cake is an Easter thing, but I don't actually know what it is... But could google it, I suppose. YuMee - Next year, request a Mothers Day take-away. Or restaurant meal, better still; don't even need to clear away then, let alone wash up. |
