Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

As I thought, yoga was a bit creaky and unbendy after 3 months off but it was good to have a good stretch. :)

Morning (just not). All this talk of yoga has reminded me I must get back to Adriene - she'll be wondering where I've been.

Lovely run in the sunshine this morning. I've graduated to R3/W1 and found it quite challenging, but it was warmer than I'm used to so that probably didn't help!

Afternoon all!

I ran in shorts and a new sleeveless top I bought in Sainsbury's weeks ago. It's very pretty but sadly there's a seam at the underarm which after 5 miles was just beginning to chafe. One to keep for parkruns only. Or maybe I should just get less flabby arms ;-)

Can I be the first say 'It's too hot' - to run, as I didvthis morning, or to mow the lawn, which I need to do this afternoon.

It's very hot here. Just finished freezing my arse off in the exam room because it was so hot biking in I didn't bring a cardigan.

It's beautiful being outside. I haven't been out much this week.

Enjoy the sunshine, Carp :)
Did 7 and a bit along the river, it was very muddy in places and warm but I ran in hotter temps in Sydney so it wasn’t too bad. I have a great vest with enormous arm holes which is very non-chafey:)

I've one of those too Fleecy. Manufacturers should realise that a thick seam at the underarm is just asking to chafe the wearer, and only make vests with flat or off-set seams.

Mine is Just One More Mile, it also has a nice high neckline so you don’t burn your chest, and the back is ventilated well. It’s a really good vest when it’s super hot.

Lovely massage this morning apart from the ouchy bits (a few on my legs) and some funny crunchy bits behind my shoulders. These were explained to me as something crystalline which if massaged will liquefy and drain away. If any of the medical people on this thread can enlighten me further, I shall be grateful.

About This Thread

Welcome to the 700 miles in 2018 thread, everybody welcome :-)

The thread motto is:

'700 miles is neither necessary nor sufficient'

All you have to do is run about 1.91 miles per day or 13.46 miles per week or 58.33 miles per month and take a picture when you get to 700 miles of either you or the spot you reached the target or both if you want to. And if you go under or over 700 miles nobody will mind.

Join in the chat on the friendliest thread around - all things discussed and sometimes even some running is talked about.

Next year's spreadsheet can be found here - let's fill it up
