Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

you weren’t blaspheming you were panicking. I suppose it’s too much to hope they don’t speak your first language. Deep breath xx

Everyone knows the word "shit".

It is possible that most people just heard it as a panicky "shhhh...."

I apologised profusely to the priest afterwards (who may not have picked up the expletive) and he was very nice about it and said that we were all speaking foreign languages at church (which is true - there are very few Icelandic-born catholics).

That sounds awful and most unfair, ITG.

Oops ITG!

Five miles in the bag today, I am pleased with my pacing and it was a beautiful morning, really sunny and mild. I think that's going to change in the week though, so I need to order some capris because mine have gone holey.

Oh dear ITG. Maybe you should learn some swear words in a less popular 4th language. Like Basque...

Oops ITG. :-o

Race done but Garmin now misbehaving with up loading. :-p I was pleased that I managed a lot of longer running without walking breaks and got in just under the 2 hours which is what I did last year. :) Nice morning for it, in fact a bit of a dog's bumhole today if a tad chilly in the shade and wind.

Oh, poor you ITG! Um, would you be mortified if I shared that story with my elderly dad, who is stressing about some mistake he made in the bidding prayers recently?

I'm sure it was very embarrassing ITG but I confess, ( ;-) ) it made me smile :-)

Well. My race, then. I think I may have injured my foot even more. It was going fine until about 6-7km in, and then my whole foot started to hurt a LOT. By the end I was almost hopping on one foot as it hurt so much to put any weight on my left foot. Really quite horrible :-(

Badger, make his day.

Daisy, I am glad you can confess. Not even being Catholic, that option is not open to me.

About This Thread

Welcome to the 700 miles in 2018 thread, everybody welcome :-)

The thread motto is:

'700 miles is neither necessary nor sufficient'

All you have to do is run about 1.91 miles per day or 13.46 miles per week or 58.33 miles per month and take a picture when you get to 700 miles of either you or the spot you reached the target or both if you want to. And if you go under or over 700 miles nobody will mind.

Join in the chat on the friendliest thread around - all things discussed and sometimes even some running is talked about.

Next year's spreadsheet can be found here - let's fill it up
