rubbish run today. huge gale and lots of manky slush, so I was frozen, soaked and slow. I only went out to hoover some WSW but my opponent got off the blocks quicker. I'm (barely) in the lead so we shall see. I doubt I will be out before 12 tomorrow. At least we are on the same time zone again though. Till I go to Greenland next week.

Mornage.
Did not sleep, and have enjoyed the charms of rail replacement buses so far today, although I'm currently on a train.
While Suffolk is not in any way flat, I have never done a hillier race. Quads and right ankle are complaining but yesterday's foot has piped down.
I've decided that an ultra in the middle of marathon taper is probably a bad idea. However, I'm quite good at bad ideas so I will probably do it again.

Done! 5 38 ish, slowed down a lot in the second half, but never had the jelly legs of a bad marathon. I'll blog later, but for now share this: I walked to the start with two regular ultra runners, hit half way with them, and crossed the line just ahead of them, getting a big hug fit my first ultra. Sweet
