Oooh it's the day for fetchie meet ups. I'm going to delight Meglet with the delights of Sheffield pubs later. Hopefully we will parkrun tomorrow if it's not cancelled.

Lots of fetchie meet ups :)
Went to Zumba and walked 4 miles and my quads still hurt from bums and tums on Wednesday. Expect swearing on the hills tomorrow :)

Funkyplates: you probably won't need the gloves till the swimming bits, but they did make those a lot more bearable last year. Seconding the merino top, again seems to make a difference. And bring a bin liner for wet clothes and lots of easy to put on layers for afterwards, and dry shoes without laces cos your hands will be too numb to do them up.

Meglet's and Fleecy are giving excellent advice here. Do not underestimate just how cold you are going to be as soon as the running is over. I spectated at HUN a few years ago (the Elvis Year) and got quite worried about some of you. Turned blue, you did.

And don't bother with waterproof shoes or socks, they'll just hold the water.

Somewhere waterproof to put car keys (or give to a non runner)

It was bloody baltic on my run this morning, I can't say I have HDS envy this year! Looking forward to some pintchampagne with Som later :-)

And I think we will be parkrunning unless Som kills me with alcohol poisoning...

About This Thread

Welcome to the 700 miles in 2017 thread, everybody welcome :-)

The thread motto is:

'700 miles is neither necessary nor sufficient'

All you have to do is run about 1.91 miles per day or 13.46 miles per week or 58.33 miles per month and take a picture when you get to 700 miles of either you or the spot you reached the target or both if you want to. And if you go under or over 700 miles nobody will mind.

Join in the chat on the friendliest thread around - all things discussed and sometimes even some running is talked about.

Happy running :-)
