bunting for XB!

Claire I was thinking of you only yesterday and wondering how you were getting on - brilliantly by

the sound of it!

Doug's funeral was both celebratory and heart-breaking.

His partner Lola found an engagement ring in his stuff that was to be taken on to Paris while he completed the AtoA.

At the wake, Enduroman, the company which organises the AtoA, awarded a new trophy called the 19:26 trophy, to Rachel Hill, the woman who completed the triathlon within days of Doug's death. #19 was the AtoA number of a guy named Nick who died in the Channel last year, and #26 was Doug's number.

Quite a few tears shed. Carpe diem, folks.

Hi all,

Very sad LD

bunting XB 700 bunting

The half I had planned for October has been cancelled. Bummer.

Was going to enter the lincoln half on the same day but have instead opted to treat the OH to an extra night away as it is our anniversary weekend. Brownie points to me. I'm thinking Cambridge or similar. //goes off to ponder and look for decent hotels.

Oh how terribly sad, to have found an engagement ring too. Makes you pause and count your blessings.

XB bunting congrats on the 700!

I haven't read the rest yet, so medal ((())) :-) and banana as appropriate.

:( LD.

Andy, I got a great deal at the Holiday Inn outside of town at Cambridge last year, nice fitness centre and pool, and the best breakfast of our holiday. The only downside was cutting my foot in the pool.

Welcome to the 700 miles in 2017 thread, everybody welcome :-)

The thread motto is:

'700 miles is neither necessary nor sufficient'

All you have to do is run about 1.91 miles per day or 13.46 miles per week or 58.33 miles per month and take a picture when you get to 700 miles of either you or the spot you reached the target or both if you want to. And if you go under or over 700 miles nobody will mind.

Join in the chat on the friendliest thread around - all things discussed and sometimes even some running is talked about.

Happy running :-)
