I just cycled 2 miles to the supermarket and even that hurt. I'm supposed to be doing a 46 mile sportive in 2 weeks. I feel very sorry for myself.

Fragile Do Not Bend
Skim read PAGES of this thread I needed to catch up on.
L10 and MM, hope you start your marathon training, looking forward to seeing you in October! I'm not particularly doing marathon training, I'm just carrying on as normal. I have 2 SVN events before then which I'm hoping are going to be marathons, but the one in August is half marathon length laps so given that it's August I might be stopping at one lap.

Evening all
Managed to get out for a run in the rain and very much enjoyed it, 4.4 miles done. Was a bit gutted at the slowness my garmin said though.
Kim and ITG, oh and Linds - hope your not on the injury bench too long.
I have a 100k bike ride in France Sunday - that will do as a replacement of 60 mins running wont it?

That sounds perfect cross training to me MM! Well done on the run, mine was shorter than required but OK, it's a start isn't it. Frag I'm looking forward to our little Fetchie get together in October! I would say I'm carrying in as normal after the start of this year with three marathons done but I have been a couch potato since the one in June so I do need to get on with a plan to get back into it

We did it last year LD. Group of us get an earlyish ferry over and use the flat Wiggle route. Nice lunch stop and back over on the ferry - roads are lovely to cycle on in France and French are very cycle friendly

Yes OH loves cycling in France and I had harboured hopes that one day he and I would cycle from Dieppe to Paris, but I think by the time I'm fit and brave enough to do it we'll be about 80
