Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Hard decision but I'd ditch the race too. As you'll be shattered and not be able to enjoy the concert as much.

4 miles for me today to keep things ticking over.

Don't be hard on yourself Star, just keep moving when you can and the mojo will return
Paula I'm doing Brighton marathon very easy (on a long haul flight from Heathrow early morning day after) so if you do it at a mostly walk I'll be right with / behind you! Offered same to Claire! Reckon at a walk it will still put me in good stead for Neolithic half. But Brighton are good at letting you defer if that works better xx

Paula, maybe see how the training goes between now and Brighton and then make a more informed decision. Or just listen to the Ultra Bint who knows a thing or ten.

I've done a marathon then took T1 to a gig later that night. Five hours in a mosh pit. It's doable but you have to really want it. I find loud pounding music energising although I was knackered the next day.

I'm not sure there'll be a mosh pit at a Sting gig ...

And I have the next day booked as annual leave.

Decisions, decisions ...

I agree you have time before you need to decide. Personally I wouldn't want to go to a concert after a marathon but then I wouldn't do an ultra either 😀

I have just been for my first run for a while. 4.4 miles in the bag and it felt good

About This Thread

Maintained by iRan
Welcome to the 700 miles in 2016 thread, everybody welcome :-)

The thread motto is:

'700 miles is neither necessary nor sufficient'

All you have to do is run about 1.91 miles per day or 13.46 miles per week or 58.33 miles per month and take a picture when you get to 700 miles of either you or the spot you reached the target or both if you want to. And if you go under or over 700 miles nobody will mind.

bunting and 700er medals are often spotted around here.

Happy running :-)
