Last year I was stuck on Leith Hill for almost an hour and a half. I did it the first year and it was fabulous but a smaller amount of riders. Last year was terrible, so many crashes, delays and diversions (I managed to do 100 both times). I did have a ballot place this year but decided not to do it, too much of a risk for me. The H4H dawn raid was much more enjoyable even if it was on open roads.

Linds I was blue wave R. Our moving time was also less than 3 hours, my fastest ride ever, though not sure how much the tunnels affected it. It took us ages to get from our car park near the finish to the start, about an hour to do 8 miles, so many traffic lights, so we only arrived at the end of the wave loading time and were near the back (though it didn't seem to matter and there were people from other waves in with their friends)

Yes, OH and I were in different waves, which caused me a lot of worry. We met up really easily as it turned out, but I was a bit annoyed that lots of people seemed to have been allowed to meet up with their friends in other waves. I was pink G and OH was orange P. I think you were ahead of us, then.
We parked 6 miles from the start and 3 from the finish. Riding to the start was better than riding from the finish. So many cars in the afternoon!
It seems that guy getting CPR did die, which is really sad.

I remember cycling past him on the bridge. Before there were any paramedics with him, though he was getting attention.
We parked in Mayfair so walked back to car park after a rest and eats in green park. Never seen so many cyclists! We decided if we did it again we'd get a room at Westfield and take the clipper back. I'm going to enter the ballot but am a bit put off by the tales of congestion and the incidents which seem to occur every year

Think we'll stick to the 46. I won't have time to train for the 100 and we were lucky this year that the kids were away.
Not sure what I'd do about the start. We wanted to take a special train but they were all full.

Youngest will be 18 next year (eeek!) so this might be a *thing* we could *do* - as the London to Brighton will be right in the middle of his A2s. Though looking at some of the stories from it, it's far from an ideal event.

I think just going up to London on the Saturday and riding around on closed roads sounds good.

B that now appeals to me more as it is more a family thing rather than the idiot racers that you get on the Sunday ruining it for the majority and making it dangerous.
