Press ups are better the bench presses, they engage your core.

But I do separate core stuff as well WS, which also makes press ups more difficult when they follow on.
(The end of my weights session is:
10 press ups seated circle 60 seconds each way
10 press ups Drunken mountain climb 60 seconds (sadly involves no actual drinking!) 10 press ups Marching Plank 60 seconds
10 press ups Scissors 60 seconds
10 press ups Starfish Crunch 60 seconds
10 press ups Russian v tuck twists 30 seconds 10 press ups)

Blimey Nellers!
I've dropped off again the last few days. My PT annoys me when the last thing he gets me to do on a session is a plank. I just can't hold it long as I'm knackered by then, now if he did it at the beginning, I wonder how much longer I could stay up.

It sounds impressive until you realise how rarely I’ve been doing it alpenrose. Also the 60 seconds are more of an ambition than a reality at this stage!

I got past last year's total (16,250) just before the end of September, now aiming to pass 20,000 before the year end. I now have a nice routine of doing a set of 25 or 30 before and after pretty much every run (along with sit-ups) which as I typically do 10-12 runs a week means they soon add up.
