Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,

Arghh to insect bites FF. Hope they don't bug (!!) you for too long.
I think it's quite amazing how you can run barefoot gg. When I'd had pf some years ago I was advised by a physio not to go barefoot anywhere, even in the house. But we never wear shoes in the house...
I really ought to look sensibly at how many days a week I run. It's got to the more frequent because if my current inability to run very far and wanting to have decent week totals. But I'm actually not regaining fitness hs but only (just) maintaining a degree of ability.

Four miles on roads early this morning when it was so fresh.
Hope those hair do's look just as you want Lesley and gg!

Hope you will both be happy with your haircuts, LL and GG! I'm due for another haircut which doesn't take long, as there's not much to cut 👴. My hairdresser is another runner though, and she always likes talking about running, training etc.

Well done Steve for today's 4 miles. You are maintaining a level of fitness, even if not increasing it.

Another very hot morning, but a nice chatty 10.33 miles in the forest with two running buddies.

Problem with standard physio & podiatrists is they are often not believing if benefits of barefoot running read up what the barefooters believe and I think it makes more sense your feet are made without shoes so let them work and they fix themselves and PF will been contributory to the shoes you wear and now it changes your gait.

I’ve certainly had minimal issues since I went to zero drop then vibrams.

3.5 sluggish miles not advisable to eat a meal then head out on a muggy night but started in the woods which was so peaceful.

Great consistency Steve and would love 10 chatty woodland miles instead of work hs. Fab!!

Definitely not advisable to eat a meal before going for a run GG, but well done for managing it.

We enjoyed our long forest run yesterday morning, but if would have been much tougher solo. There had been a forest fire deliberately started at the weekend, in the Inclosure that we were running in. We were unaware of that, and didn't see any evidence. Very scary when I consider that my 8 solo miles on Sunday were also in that Inclosure.

It wasn’t the best hs but thankfully all the training for ultras has meant I can tolerate food & run just adjusted my plan.

Today was opposite not eaten since last nights dinner and did 5m this morning doing one of my training sessions a 20-20-10 surge run. Really enjoyed it.

Fires especially deliberate fires at this time of year are devastating as they can just wipe out a huge area. I can’t help but wish those responsible get the karma they deserve. Glad you were all safe.

Quite concerning that hillstrider, fire can spread so quickly and you could easily have been cut off and seriously hurt.

You do have to wonder what goes on in some people's minds. (If anything.)

Barefoot running had great "exposure" after "Born to Run" and it did seem the way to go. I loved that book. I know that recent evidence re minimalist shoes shows no lesser injury occurrence or foot problems than in those wearing more conventional shoes. Trouble with " beliefs" are that they need to be backed up with evidence. 😂, now we may not have been born to wear shoes but the same applies to clothing 😂. Barefoot is fine if the terrain is safe and one has decent feet and no structural nasties! Having said all that gg does a fantastic job of putting the shoes aside and I suspect has "good feet".😂🏃
Deliberate fires? What idiots out there.
5k again this morning, a better plod than yesterday and cool enough.
