Sounds positive Lesley so pleased it’s working and you’re back getting there.

A pub lunch sounds a perfect alternative to a run, enjoy.

I’m same as you Steve def a sunflower and todays run was sunny here too, ran with a friend whose coming back after surgery then Covid, she’s struggling with loss of pace since the lockdown days and then more recent health issues, so we did a steady hour run (5m) ran to aldi for stuff for tea and walked back. We’re moored next to each other on a very quiet river setting - expected it to be much busier.

Meant my run wasn’t the interval session coach had in my plan but I’ll do that Saturday instead.

An Aldi run is a must!! The walk back even better 😂! That's still a good hour on your feet gg; your friend is doing ok getting back at that pace. Only time will show how covid has impacted long term on those who exercise although already some studies are showing up heart and lung issues which non- exercisers wouldn't notice. As you know my pace is currently hopeless and I fear I won't get it back. Too bad. Acceptance is difficult and I'm the wrong age to really believe that I can improve after forty odd years of running! It's maintenance now😂
Another sunny five this morning and not a soul to be seen.

Well done Steve for yesterdays 10 k and this mornings 5. Nobody can get quicker after years of running. I tend to base my performances on WAVA's these days, but even those aren't as good as they were back in the day.

Thanks GG, Sarah and I did enjoy yesterdays pub lunch, it was great to catch up. On Sunday, she's doing a running, cycling and kayaking race. I'm not sure what order they are in.

A steady hours run is good. Covid could be to blame for your friend's loss of pace. Some of our Club runners have been hit the same way.

Today is a rest day, but I'm hoping to run a bit quicker tomorrow, as my aches and pains are starting to ease up. Probably no speed work for a few more days.

Steve, as one who is your senior by just a few years, my attitude is that I want to keep running for as many years as possible, whatever the pace. Don't beat yourself up about how slow you think you are; while you are still able to run - at any pace - you are doing valuable work in keeping yourself fit. [End of Lecture]

A bit bloody windy this morning just a 4 mile loop with some 3 min quicker bursts thrown at a good pace..made it tough going.

Thanks everyone for the encouragement as always.
My belief in my ability has waned 3M! Not to bore you all again about my pace/HR I'll be hopefully "less afraid" about keeling over once I've seen a cardiologist. Because of family history and my brother (18 months younger) recently having seven stents and lucky to have "made it" I saw my GP and an abnormality was detected in my heart. It might well be nothing and I could well be being overly sensitive and hypochondrical.
I'm snailing it at 130 bpm LL but fear overtakes me and I cut back enough to maintain what is an aerobic session. Did another 5 miles this morning, what a difference a day makes weather wise and a brisk east wind was luckily behind me on the way home.
