Always prefer running outside - but the treadmill serves a purpose! When I started heart rate training I couldn’t do more than 3,5 miles in 40 mins in zone 2. I am now up to 4.22 miles in the same time.

Always good to be able to vary how you train; what an improvement Mrsb on the treadmill and as you say, serves a purpose. We don't have a treadmill but torey makes use of the one in her local gym just a quarter mile away.
I simply can't use a treadmill!! Cold this morning but rays of sunshine during my 3.8 miles on roads. Still not 100%dry and shoes still getting wet of course!

hi all, lots of good running still going on!! glad the weather isnt proving too much of a hinderance.
I met a friend last night, after a change of plan (she couldnt find me) we finally got out for a run but less than planned, however, it was a pleasant run and catch up. Tonight I'm out with Magsy and my nephew has asked if I can help him start to run (he's almost 14) and I am really touched that a teenager is happy to come running with his old auntie! I am going to pick him up when I finish work (aka run to him) and we'll do a little loop before we meet Mags then I'll drop him off and we can carry on. Aiming for 2.5ish miles for his first one. He plays football so he is fit and will probably finish me off, but we'll see how we get on.
Its a pleasant day here and actually brightening up to what it was earlier

on treadmills I keep toying with one I can put under my desk although i would need to get a desk that I can raise to allow me to walk and type but maybe a treadmill pad next to my desk would also work.... I'm to be convinced.

The treadmill obviously works for you MrsB, but I can't even run 100 metres on one.
Well done Steve for this mornings 3.8 miles on roads.
That's good GG that your young nephew has asked you to help him get into running. I'm sure that you will be a super Coach😃
It's rained nearly all night again, and is still raining now🌧. The forest is more or less a no go, unless one enjoys wading through deep mud and water. Some of our club runners do though, and delight in posting pictures on strava of themselves knee deep in it.
I did the usual Tuesday Farmers Walk this morning, and am now trying to think where to do tomorrows speed session with the Wednesday Group on roads.

Well done Mrsb that's a nice improvement. Well done Steve for going out this morning. Little and often is keeping your mileage up GG. It's nice your nephew has asked for your help too. I avoid the mud and wet hillstrider, that's not fun to me. Rest day today as I ran yesterday and it was raining this morning too 🤣🤣

Thanks FF, am tantalisingly one place below the break even line now so am hoping that there are no further mileage interuptions. You might be lucky with the weather now, it seems to be settling and the wet and mud less so! Good to see the farmer's walk is maintained hs, definitely part of your weekly plan. Speed session today then? Brrr here and misty . That was very sad about swittle wasn't it? On the target list but sadly passed away. Thanks to Fetchies and Mr Fetch who found out what had happened to him.

7.65 miles this morning with a virtual mile thrown in too. Grey and dull but dry and no wind.

intervals for lunch.... 15 - 1x1min, had to pause to cross a busy road (after last recovery rep) when I went to restart it saved the flipping run! So I had to recreate another interval workout and go again, it really messed my flow but I did it.
I also had a small stop early in my warm up, a little squirrel had succumbed to a traffic collision not wanting it to just kept being run over as other than its eyes it was still 'whole' I went to collect its little body, it was still warm it must have just happened moments before. I placed it over the fence on some soft grass, it made me sad.

Nephew called after school and has taken away 3 pairs of black leggings as he wants to be more like a runner... he was eyeing up my colourful flanci's but sadly his parents would have a fit!! I will get him some in time
