2696. Made a deliberate effort to walk somewhere I wouldn't find myself by chance while my car was being serviced this morning and got 170 new circles

2003 - my trip to do a bit of running in Worcestershire earlier in the week has bumped me nicely over the 2,000 mark. Pleased with that.
It's a bit compulsive, this, isn't it?!

Given that the circles don’t actually touch each other do you have to go into the circle itself, or is there a grid-based hitbox?

It seems a little hit and miss, presumably because the GPS signal isn't totally accurate.

It's VERY hit and miss - sometimes you get circles where you don't expect to, other times you can go through the centre of a 'missing' circle, and still not get it.
Swings and roundabouts I suppose

I've never actually sought out a circle or checked that they are right. They just seem to generally follow the routes that I do, so reckoned they were about right.
I think they are 20m (diameter? radius) circles same as the Fetchpoint ones, so it's the way that Fetch uses to identify if you have "touched" something. 20m being GPS accuracy (+/- 10m)? So lots of opportunity for missing or getting! G

I have lots of gaps in the blue circle trails and isolated circles in the middle of fields. I'm not sure if coverage becomes more complete if you do the same route lots of times.

It might have something to do with a dodgy GPS trace?
I'm not telling how few circles I have

I'm way behind plan on 1346.
Hopefully a wild, wet & windy weekend walking in the Lake District will boost that a bit, but not expecting to be able to do much given the weather forecast

I'm sure it's a GPS trace thing, minardi. And perfectly acceptable within GPS tolerance. (I used to hate it when I missed the occasional WSW square because the GPS didn't follow me all the way to the end of the lane or whatever, but I can be zen about the blue circles because it's not a competitive thing.)
Enjoy, R4R! I'm hoping to do some pointless walking around Manchester this weekend to nab some away-from-home circles.
