Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

that's some going Velo, bravo!

After the comments we made about maybe needing 3000/month to get to 10,000, I wondered how hard it would be for me to get to 3000 in a running only month. I'm slightly disadvantaged by my golden rule that I will never drive somewhere just for a run (that holds me back in conquercise too) but I've given it a go. Helped by starting in 6 locations this month: work, home, 2*son cricket training venues, 2*races, I have got to 3050 with a short run to come this evening. Off about 230 miles of running that has taken a bit of effort actually!

Oh, I was even more hampered by falling over at 3k of one of those races and not being able to finish!

Back to my normal approach of run wherever I fancy now but hopefully this start to the year will make the 10k a bit easier than it was back in 2021.

Fetch could make this an official game although maybe then I'd get addicted like I did to Fetchpoint. That ended in it ruining my training and me having to go cold turkey!

Impressed, WW :) Looking at January, I could probably get close to 3000 in a month on running alone by double-dipping car journeys and doing more runs from work if I was determined enough. I've got a short trip to visit my parents (taking my running shoes), a trip to Carlisle to get my car serviced, and three races. And a few more loops I can do from home if I keep my bog standard runs at 2 hours.

We had a discussion about it becoming an official Fetch game but IIRC failed to come up with anything very different from other games.

There could be BADGES though.

2191 this month, not bad, I will have to go a little bit out of my way in Feb.....maybe this would help me extend my meagre lawn!

I'm going to need to deploy my bicycle to expand my lawn up to the next badge.

2026 all on foot but a lot of my runs have been on regular routes so I can do better.

It's about the only target thread I'm even contemplating looking at. Partly for the reason you describe, if only to prevent the competition against myself. Targets can be great but specific number of miles, etc, can actually get in the way of the core principle for my training. One of the reasons that I'll never try run streaks.

Count the blue circles on the map view in your training log for this year. HINT: Fetch does the counting.

Possible targets include 10,000 in total, 10,000 just running....
