I have a friend that has not had a job interview for 15 years and I'm trying to help her prepare for one next week.

I want to quiz her with potential interview questions. The position she is going for is a management position, managing a team of 15 staff.

Does anyone have any good questions that they have been asked in a job interview lately or that they use when interviewing people?

Thanks for your help.

Longwayround (LWR)
What are your three greatest strengths?
What is your greatest weakness?
Why did you leave (Why are you thinking of leaving) your last job?

Something along the lines of .... a usually high-performing member of your team starts arriving at work late, is looking a little less smart than usual and is making mistakes that you wouldn't normally expect them to make....how would you deal with this..

What can you bring to the role/position/team/service
What are your best/worst attributes
How would your best friend describe you (was actually asked that in an interview once, ridiculous as it is)
What has been your biggest professional achievement
(Conversely) Other than your children, what has been your biggest personal achievement
Can you describe what the role you've applied for consists of and how you can adapt your skills to it? (unlikely to be put to the interviewee in that way, but they'll expect your friend to have a good understanding of the post they've applied for and will ask a question like that)

I've been asked to explain /give examples of how I did something well (eg managed a 'difficult' member of a team who wasn't fitting in, did something that brought the whole team together etc)

Can you give me an example of when something did not go according to plan? How did you find a solution?

Can you tell me of someone that has inspired you in your career?

Why did you apply for this position? Can you tell me something about the company?
