The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free.
But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient.
Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead.
Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?
That will teach me, HM's have got to be taken seriously and prepared for!! That was hell today, came the closest I ever have to pulling out of a race and that was after only 2 miles and the easy bit! The legs were just dead going up the inclines and boy are there a lot of them at St Albans:-) I don't think the cold and the rain slowed me down, though I would have preferred a nice sunny day, it was just fatigue in the legs.
Anyway enough moaning and I am happy with the determination I showed today if nothing else, not one of my best runs, but job done anyway. 1:19:23 chip and 1st V50 and 13th overall out of 2,500 runners. £100 richer at least:-) I still think I should have stayed in bed though.

£100?! Can't argue with that John! Excellent running, even if you didn't feel that you were on top form. I would have preferred that to a silver cup and silver plate!

Btw...I felt so, so good for not doing anything hard after Tuesday this week. I really think a good taper helps.

Yes, I don't do myself any favors, but I hope a a lesson has been learned today, because I don't want to go through that again!

I know how much you enjoy running and cycling, so it is a fine balance between being out there everyday and continually hitting PBs. Still a great result today and sometimes more satisfying when battling through to the finish when you just want to step off. Well done on another category win.

Thats how I fetl at Hatfield BO, but on reflection, I did OK... and I hope, on reflection you also realise how awesome this is, you might not feel its the awesome-est??! by your very strict self-assessment standards, but it is... Anyway, think of it as just a money earning excercise! Bloody good prizes there then! Not that I would have been in them... good standard on the girl front by all accounts. Well done John.
