Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,

eL Bee! I was rather pleased with my race. Even splits, apart from the 3rd Km which had a noteable updulate, and a negative split for the whole race
I paced this much better than 3 weeks ago, but it's clear that if I want to get any quicker at this distance, that I need to do speed and strength work rather more than I have up to this point!

The Numbers were these:
Distance: 10K
Time: 41:10
Pace: 6:37min/mile (4:07min/Km)
AvHR: 180bpm

40 mins is a bit of a landmark time for me - and those 7seconds per Km are proving elusive!!
I suppose some actual training might help!!!
Will not be racing this one again though

Neil Oldfield Not amused at all. There were no distance markers so couldnt tell what pace I was running at. One of the lanes was completely blocked by parked cars two abreast and I had to STOP as there was no way past until they managed to move and I squezzed passed the wing mirrors. I had to wait for cars turning into a number of roads as no marshalls in the places that they were needed, but plenty in the fields where none were needed!Shall I go on, all this resulted in a poor time. To top it all off the dismal medal had broken already!Rubbish, shant be doing this run again!

Pinchi Interesting race - a mixture of roads, footpaths and tracks. Difficult to pass anyone through the fields. It was never going to be a 10k for a personal best, but the variety in the course made it one of those races purely for enjoyment rather than to break any records. I did see one distance marker at 7km but no others.

Supernova48 My first ever 10km race.I ran it after working nights and finishing at 4am.Was not as well planned as i thought these races would be.Like nizbit had to stop at one point to dodge some cars.as it was my first race had to try and pace myself as i didn't know what to expect.overall enjoyed it.caught the bug.although the goody bag and medal wern't great medal fell into two pieces before i got home.ran it with nizbit,carlos1976 and jon.carlos and jon waited for me so we could cross line together true sportsmen.

Twinkle Toes Was really disappointed in the race....

Off road sections made it impossible to run quickly - was not risking a twisted ankle....

Across a field - do you go aorund or take the short cut??

After having it recommeded as a good race, with a superb goodie bag - I was disappointed...

That said - I managed a PB - which just makes me wonder how quickly I could have gone!!!
