Renfrewshire AAA 5 Mile Road Race

AlanO Best performance in ages. Fastest 5miler in over 5yrs and 2m30s quicker than previous year. Turned onto the Battery in 8.39, Reached the turning point in 15.20 and came back in 14.05. Felt good throughout, especially in the first half when I felt I was holding back. What a boost.

bedlam_g Wanted to run sub 5.40s tried to control my pace better at the start which resulted in a sluggish paced couple of miles I had to push hard to break, better final couple of miles and a 1.39 pb plus the time I’d predicted. Pleased with that. Mile splits - 5.40 5.47 5.48 5.38 5.24

ian9657 Official time,new WAVA !! started well, got into comfort zone for 2nd mile and then worked my socks off for rest of the race. Big thanks to club mate Gavin Greene for pulling me round the last 1.5 miles.

rleyton Watch time (with a couple of seconds added for 'luck' as I think I set it off a bit after the start). Quite pleased as that's almost two minutes off my PB on the same course last year (which was a bit windier). Didn't push as hard as I could have all said, but felt pleased to have an average pace of about 06:57. Also points to a decent 10k improvement on the right course (post London ;-)
