toepointer Watch time 42.46 which would have been a British pb by 2s (Dutch pb 39.19 possibly short) but official time 42.49. Not bad on a slightly slow, hilly twisty course. On the advice of a podiatrist, dispensed with my orthotics and this was my first run for years without them. Felt much better and able to get much more push off my feet. Achilles injury also improved after the race!

paulhalford Wow! I haven't felt that good about a race in a long time. Somehow came within 34 seconds of my PB on an undulating/hilly course. Organisers say it's 30-40 seconds slower than a flat course.

Only regret is not pushing it a bit more as I felt I was running within myself.

Am trying to run in the 5km relay on Sunday as a result of the unexpectedly good time.
