#runningman 🏃 Pre race notes....PB of 42.49 over this distance.
Last race of the series have done the previous 7. Another PB would be good but will be happy with another sub 43 min run to finish the series off.

Post race notes... Somehow managed to PB this race by 1 SECOND in spite of the fact I felt tired before the race and struggled at times throughout. Been really pleased with my form in this series but glad to have completed all the 8 races.

Long Shanks Didn't feel good from the start. Legs really heaver, might have been the heat or lack of sleep. Sorry to anyone who bet on me.

Runningheva Better than I expected, but not as good as I hoped. Felt sluggish before we set off and found it hard to stay motavated. Hot humid conditions, and a boring route didn't help.
Won my age group again ( and beat Brokentoes) so got to be content.

tiger-turnbull my pb is just slightly quicker than this at 42mins 49secs but i cannot see why i should not pb this race aswell making my pb's for this series of race of 5 out of six, not bad for someone training for a marathon in september!
did not beat my pb but after mile two i twisted my hip and just managed to keep it going and in the last mile it went again and struggled to get a sprint finish due to this and just plodded over the line just outside of my pb

Tim of Fife I wanted sub-50. But I didn't want to overtire myself on a hot and humid evening. So, put in the odd spurt to two in the opening kilometres, then relaxed markedly during the middle part of the race, before finishing 'crisply'.

1st km - 4.49 (7.45 per mile pace), 2nd km - 4.54 (7.53 per mile pace), 3rd km - 4.44 (7.37 per mile pace), 4th km - 5.08 (8.16 per mile pace), 5th km - 4.58 (8.00 per mile pace); 6th km - 5.01 (8.05 per mile pace); 7th km - 5.02 (8.06 per mile pace), 8th km - 4.49 (7.49 per mile pace), 9th km - 4.51 (7.49 per mile pace); 10th km - 4.28 (7.11 per mile pace)
