Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,

Gordo 8 secs outside PB but after two awful races in May I'm very happy with time. Felt strong throughout race helped by running with Laurence for first 4k and great support all along the way. Great event which I thoroughly enjoyed - never thought I'd say that about a 10K!!!

larrry I got 50mins49sec - DAMN IT still not beat 50mins this year- surely one day it must come!!! The older I get, the more unlikely it is becoming as not only am I getting grey and stooping, my legs seem to be getting shorter.
Too many beers last night might have been something to do with it. They say that you are supposed to carbo load the night before and silly me thought that lager contained all the carbs that I needed.....

radioworx ah... excuses. Started like a train with the first couple of km at 5.15 pace.

At KM four started to feel a little uncomfortable. Stopped for a pee in the bushes about 4.5km.

Thereafter fairly solid and fine but felt all the energy drain out of me after 7km.

Did my usual barnstorming finish.

Disappointed to fall short, but to be honest I needed to have trained more. In future I will.

Still, on the bright side I had more in the tank at the end. Just that flat point at 7k that did me in. Should've eaten something before the race?

Desperate to get out and do another now.

Really well organised race and a good venue. Two parks (bellahouston and Pollok) with lots of shade. One longish hill in pollok park, but nothing too scary.

rleyton This was the first race I ran after taking up running. Ran it in just under 55 minutes, which I was delighted with. 9 months later, my PB is 10 minutes better, so it'd be great to think I could break the 45 PB time at this race. UPDATE: Oh dear, it didn't work out in the end, so soz for all the lost bets! I ended up struggling a lot more in Pollok park than I'd anticipated, and didn't recover as much time on the downhill sections. My first ever loose shoelace didn't help matters. All in all, not particularly happy not to have pushed my PB, but perhaps not the best course to have aimed for that. But, I intend to get below 45:00 this year at some point, so watch this space!

Disappointed at first but on reflection and studying the Polar HRM data, a good tactical race. Position in the starting line just got me off at exactly the right pace and reached race pace after a minute of two. Not confident enough yet to push all the way but was strong in second half.
