Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,

Boab Great weather, however I now have 'vest marks'. 5 mile splits show the story, 27:40 (10K in 34:10), 56:50, 1:27:30, 1:59:21. Started to struggle at 5 miles, chest got very tight and breathing was difficult and all over the place. 3rd place and Harmeny AC won the team prize with Jon in 2nd place and Paul in 5th.

Cutjap I don't know where I got my predicted time from as it's just way out. Must have been drunk. However the race itself...

...I started quite well I thought, and felt fine up to 12 miles. Between 12 and 15 was feeling pretty poor but 15-18 was a disaster. I don't know what happened but I had nothing left. I had to stop and walk which I've NEVER had to do before. I think I just started too quickly and it wore me out. I am really disappointed in this and it's made me nervous about my next long run. A lady gave me a Gel thingimmy and that did help and I was able to run from the last water station at 18, in to the finish at 20 miles. My friends were there to cheer me in but I was so gutted at how I'd done I couldn't enjoy their words of consolation.

However must be positive I guess so onwards and upwards to the next run, despite how much I am dreading it.

MartyK Fantasic weather, with a nice little tailwind too. I felt really strong and actually got to 13.1 miles in a half marathon PB of 1:42. But I knew that I needed to calm down as this was supposed to be a training run for the Ed marathon, so I walked for a minute or so after that and then tried to run 9min miles rather than 8mm. Did ok until about 16/17 miles but started to struggle. Thankfully another runner was feeling the same as me and we managed to run the final 2 miles together, egging each other on. A cracking race and it was good to get a beer in with the other Fetchies afterwards.

PentlandPounder Bit warm, but I enjoyed the whole thing. Pacing seemed OK, not overtaken by many people, except Happy G(rrrr)! Again!. Got a cuddle off Santababy at the end - who wouldn't run 20 miles for that?
