Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,

Dochart HQ is Newton Abbot racecourse, a great venue and only a short way from the bottom of the M5. Parking, changing, showers, baggage etc all available as well as a grandstand for supporters to cheer from. The route is a bit mixed - a two lapper with the first half through a town and along quite busy roads but the police were out in force to assist marshalls at the busier road crossings. The second half of each lap starts steeply but is on lovely, quiet country roads. There are plenty of water stations along the route. I hope other race organisers adopt the early start of 9:15am. Race day was a peach - bright and cold to start with, but soon warming up. I set off hoping to go around in about 8:30mm and was on course to do so at 25m, where I lost the route and several minutes to finish just within my previous best. 67/116

BlueWombat Please don't bet .. not likely to PB here____ Told you so! That hill out of Chudleigh did me in, and facing it the second time around was hard work. This was my birthday treat, and I think I am getting soft in my dotage. Need to build up some mental strength to keep going in the later stages. Will try again on Sunday.

kstuart Will be a PB after my disatrous London 2007 attempt where i ended up limping home in over 6 hours. A cracking race and a nice big PB. Loads of lovely points. Nice scenic route with a pair of hills, which being there is not much between them could be classed as one big bliddy hill ;)

Kittenheels Kath I am not kidding, this is a PB by 5 seconds. Am I happy or what? This is a ridiculously hard course, there are hills throughout, but a sequence of b****** hills from miles 7-10 which come back to bite you in the second lap. I ran every hill until mile 17, and then chose to march up them instead. The views across the Moors were lovely, and it was brilliant weather.
