milemonster A minute quicker than last year but a place down due to who turned up. 5th Behind: Dave Mountford, Matt Rose, Ricky Chaloner, Steve Boyton. The four runners in front of me were in front all of the way. I only overtook one person in the whole race and that was Desi. It was a bit of a lonely race compared to running it last year. Last year I was running in a pack the whole way. I think it would have helped to draft behind someone today in the later half of the race due to a bit of a head wind. Split Summary ==== 1) - 1m - 5:02(5:02/m) - 106cal Wow started fast, I did not look at my watch the whole race because I wanted to run from the feel. Matt and Dave must have done a 4:50 first mile. Crazy. 2) - 1m - 5:10(5:10/m) - 111cal Just keeping behind Desi and Steve, thinking that I may catch them both on the downhill after 3.5 miles. 3) - 1m - 5:21(5:21/m) - 112cal Just caught Desi and managed to pass him. Thought he might have put up a bit of a battle but he was happy just to let me pass him. 4) - 1m - 5:29(5:29/m) - 112cal Trying to catch Steve on the downhill but only gained a bit. 5) - 1m - 5:32(5:32/m) - 111cal After the cobbled bridges I felt weak legged. Managed to keep my position altough Desi was catching up to me. Happy to have finished in front of him but only just. 6) - 0.69m - 3:53(5:36/m) - 78cal The last bit was, as always, tough. 10K equivalent: 32:50.
