Debstir Watch time (I was at the back and the chip time is gun to finish and not start to finish). Love this race, had a blast :) Water was mid-thigh deep this time...

gtwhitton Not even thinking about setting a time for this one. I've never done it before, but I know that successful navigation of knee deep sea water is required. I'm really looking forward to it. I tried to back out of this having had my tooth removed in the morning. When I couldn't get anyone to take my entry I decided to do it as I didn't want to waste my entry fee. Wasn't confident having not eaten since breakfast, and the race was at 8pm! Surpassed all expectations as I tried to chase one of my neighbours who I saw dissappear into the crowd in front of me. I couldn't see him for the rest of the race and only found out later that I must have overtaken him in the melee at the start, and finished about a minute ahead of him. Loved running over the sand, wading through the water round the black rock, and hated the hill at the finish. Can't wait to do this one again next year though!! 81st out of 696 (top 12%).

Smout ~Was about 4.3 miles round the rock. Walked (like pretty much everyone else!) round the rock as water up over my knees :)
