Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,

Sir Moses Hill The achievement of a 15-year ambition to run a marathon. The new 'community based' route took me on foot to places in my home city I'd never been before but also meant 6-14 was uphill in west and north Belfast before a sharp descent from 14-16. Was running steady 8-min miles until around 18 when things rapidly went downhill (metaphorically, this time). A couple of miles later I couldn't bend my left leg, right calf was spasming and nearly burst into tears several times. I stopped worrying about time and noticing mile markers from 20 onwards and just got my head down, determined to make it to the finish. Ormeau Park was a killer...where is the finish line?! But got there in the end. Slightly disappointed with my time but this feeling vastly outweighed by the thrill of completing my first marathon. Bring on the next one.

Woffy Went to Belfast to run with a friend who lives in Belfast (although he dropped out). This was my fourth marathon after 3 attempts in Dublin, the goal was to break 3 and a half hours for the very first time. Race just went way better than expected and kept expecting to hit the wall or start struggling but it didn't happen so a PB by over 17 minutes.
Poorly organised, only water to drink and had to fight through the crowds to get to the finish line at the Park.
