Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

spanky the wonder monkey 2nd time i've run this race. used it as Fan Dance prep, so was running with a 23kg bergen on my back. this meant my time was about 20 mins outside of a 'normal' 10k, placing me amongst the back markers. despite this, the marshals were superb with enthusiasm you just don't get anywhere else....hearing the Rocky tune being sung at around 8k's was great!
race held on open roads - iirc last year the police did close a few roads off - with a water stop at about 5.5k. markers every km along the undulating course. we were blessed with nice sunny weather which showed the vale of glamorgan countryside off nicely!
event tech t-shirt and water bottle for sale at £2 and £1 (included in goody bag in '13).
race went like clockwork and results were on-line within an hour of last finisher crossing the line.

great race, with great marshals in a great location. one not to be missed.

WildeRover The location of the race at Atlantic College/St Donat's Castle is stunning. Always an 'interesting' field of competitors as it includes a whole bunch of the college students who know nothing about racing, 10k, or even running. It's fun, but nifty dodging in the first half mile is essential. Although many will find the course a bit hilly, personally I find the gentle uphill to 3 miles while I am fresh, followed by the most downhill in the troublesome 5th mile works out nicely for me. Definitely some of the most enthusiastic marshals you will ever see at a race.
