Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Windsurfin' Susie I wonder if anyone bet on this? I had no reason to expect a PB, cus it's a hilly course and I was doing it at marathon pace. I kept the first 7 miles at a beat or 2 above marathon effort, then pushed the last 3 miles. Result: a 30sec PB! and for a HR of only 147bpm 85%MHR. Richard ran brilliantly. He went off fast but I caught him at half way and then he ran with me. I thought he'd fade, but he had a superb finish sprint to out-kick me. He's only 16!

eMpTy Unexpectedly this turned into a PB run. Having suffered from a cold at start week and twisting knee on Wednesday and knowing it was an undulating course I was only hoping for a sub 1:15.

Used Running Postie as my pacer for first mile, thanks mate, before pulling away and running a strong six miles. Stopped for a drink at around mile 7 which proved a mistake as I couldn't get my rythmn back. Struggling badly in mile 10 when Running Postie came past finishing strongly.

Only have to a wait a week for chance of

MadRobby This was my first official 10-miler. I went out too fast as usual and didn't take the hills into account. Felt tired @ 5 miles, so eased up an enjoyed the scenery. At least this gives me a beatable PB for next time !

Em If I can manage that I will be happyish.

Had a cold all week so not run at all, felt ok on the day even though a bit snotty still, pockets full of tissues but luckily I didnt need them, took at easy as I new I wouldnt get a pb, just wanted to get the miles in ready for Plymouth. Quite pleased with time even though the start was slow as chatting and didnt realise it had begun!! Saw RG Postie but didnt get to speak to him, sorry, shirt looked good!! Well done all those who ran and got PB's.

RG Postie (RGP) I've been slightly complacent with my training, plus injuries so I'll just be happy to get round. . . . . . First run since Shinfield on the 1st due to shin splints,my first long race of the year and it turned out to be a toughy, the course was a lot more hilly than I expected, with a least one hilly in every mile but the majority of them had more, and the hill at 6.5 mile was a killer and caught a lot of runners by suprise with a quite a few walking or stopping, the lack of training started to show around 9 mile and I struggled the final leg, that said I'm very happy with my time, but more hill training is needed, didn't meet or see any Fetchites today,I think I was the only one in a Fetch shirt today.

Diogenes My first 10 miler. Started feeling fine, was aiming to be inside 1:40 but after getting to halfway in 44:30 I was hoping to break 1:30. Sadly the last 2.5 miles were new territory for my legs and I couldn't keep them moving fast enough. Stranglely, given some of the other comments, I didn't think the hills were too bad. Saw RG Postie in his Fetch vest at the start and then watched him gradually disappear into the distance.
