I got my chip for the VLM at the expo and started in the red GFA area. I was over the line about 30-40 seconds after the race started. However, the chip didn't register me moving at all. Neither starting or finishing! So thus, no finishing time! I've it my medal and I'm sure there's hundreds of photos of me on the course so show I did do the run. Does anyone know who I'd have to get in touch with to get this sorted? Or did this happen to anyone else?

Wow, how odd! Maybe you had a broken chip! Never heard of this. I'd get in touch with the race organisers.

Get in touch with the race organisers and they will use your finishing photos to allocate you with an approximate time.

I've never heard that happen before either, as with the others - get in touch with the organisers.

Do you have any idea about your time? DId you use a Garmin for example?

It happened to someone I used to work with. She sent in her garmin time and route (to show she had actually done the marathon in the time she said) and then they tracked down photos of her on Tower Bridge (i.e. half-way ish) and at the finish. She got an estimated finish time but obviously didn't get any intermediate splits which is a pain.

It happened to me before (in a half, not VLM). As others have said, contact the organisers. I got a time a few days later.

Thanks everyone, I rang the organisers and they've said that they'll try and sort me out! Thank the lord!

Always worth reporting as if yours is missing then others could be - or in smaller races the knock on effect is larger further back.
