Hi Alice, doing reasonably well with Dobby. Not too many wees in the house now. He seems to have regressed going through the night though. He barks and and whines 2 or 3 times in the night now. I go downstairs and tell him to stop it and he does for 3 or 4 hours, then starts up again. I'm sure we'll get there though. He's a lovely dog! :-)

We appear to have taken a slightly backwards step over the weekend. The hounds went to my inlaws for Sat/Sun whilst we visited my dad for his 70th. I think the rules we have in place became guidelines very quickly at their house. We went to pick them up and I think Phoebe climbed on top of us on the sofa about 5 times. I wonder who 'owns' the sofa when we aren't there? At home the hounds have been fine, but walkies this morning was hard work for the 1st 40 minutes. And Phoebes had two attempts st climbing on chairs since we got back.

Apart from that they've been great.

Toilet training is very difficult in stormy weather, I've discovered. Charlie really isn't happy going outside. In fairness, he only weighs 2kg and this wind is just about knocking him off his feet!

I wish I had taught Eb to get in and out of the car via the portable ramp I have; a lesson for all owners of dogs too heavy to lift.

She is too unwell now to jump in or out so getting her to see the vet is going to involve getting some help.

How have I only just found this thread?

We have Marvin an almost 5 year old cocker spaniel, who is such a lovely kind hearted soft boy. He loves his walks and cuddles but doesn't like change. Unfortunately we are moving in a few weeks, and have to stay at a temporary place for 4 weeks before we can go into our new home. Not sure how is going to cope with that - although temporary place is where I work so he will see more off me during the day.

Don't beat yourself up D. Although I know you are right!

Jess can jump high and wide - and does so in the open but WON'T jump into the car. Raffo has to lift the great heavy lump. She LOVES it. She's not even full grown in this pic.

Thanks to my weight lifting I can JUST ABOUT manage all 30 kilos of her. But have only done so...once
