Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

We have a working cocker. Typical for his breed, very lively, loves water, finds socks, buffs, gloves, hats to bring and show you, won’t give them up easily either.

I love spaniels - particularly springers. Ollie is 13 now and we have to be careful due to the arthritis in his elbows (he's four months into monthly Librella injections and they have significantly helped him). He used to love ball chasing but we've stopped that as the twisting when he catches up with and stops the ball is too harsh on his elbows, but he still loves a walk - particularly if it's wet and muddy 🤣. He's our third rescue springer and I can't now imagine the house without a springer.

Arlo, our WCS is so ball obsessed. He rarely gets one now unless it’s super busy at the beach as otherwise he wants to say hello to every other dog and will jump at their owners if they have balls/throwers.

(As a tip that worked with Arlo, we used two balls initially as he would bring the first one and then drop it wanting to chase the 2nd. Took like 10 mins and then he just dropped the first one without needing a 2nd). However I don’t throw them for him anymore as he gets too obsessed and starts waiting for a ball on every walk.

I've posted this picture before, but whilst he doesn't chase them anymore, Ollie continues to be excessively pleased with himself whenever he dives into a hedge and emerges with a ball that someone has lost :)

That looks familiar...

No ball needed for Oscar to go hedge diving though! He is totally tennis ball obsessed though. We use them for training but he's never allowed free rein with them! He has been know to have four in his mouth and it seems unwise. :-o
