Cleo sometimes get irritated eyes (hair gets stuck in them when she’s repeatedly smacked in the face by Stella’s wagging tail). I give them a scoosh from a bottle of saline or contact lens cleaner and that usually helps sort them out, although the vet has provided eye drops on one occasion.

It’s been a bad evening here. Lots of biting and barking. Lots of crying from me.
He’s lovely mostly (though lots of stress and I miss being able to chill properly). But sometimes I feel a bit scared of him and when today’s walk went so badly if felt really hard.
I do at times like this wish I’d never got him. I sometimes think about giving him up but I would feel so bad about it. And I keep thinking there must be better times ahead.
I just wish he’d stop biting. He’s got me badly several times today. I think I could cope with everything else if he didn’t bite like he does.

Go to the vets as they’ll be able to establish if it’s caused by infection or damage to the eye. Then drops, which have always worked quickly with ours.

The bitey phase does stop eventually Pen. The advice from our trainer was to have a treat enclosed in your other hand and when he stops biting to investigate give it to him immediately so he gets rewarded for *not* biting. It dies mean you have to wait for him to stop biting one hand before the treat comes out of the other though.

Thanks! I hope so LD. He bites my legs and it can feel a bit scary because he darts at me growling, barking and nipping and running off. And then tugs on my clothing (and sometimes flesh). Hard to get away.
The dog walker is going to try to do some “leave” training today to see if that helps.
When I left the house he was crying and yelping - he could tell the routine was different 😢 We’ll survive.

Pen - hang on in there! I was the same with our puppy when he was younger, and he scared me a bit when he barked and bit. But now he is loads calmer, still barks when he wants attention, but generally is a lot easier. When he used to get bitey I would get some treats and do some training - even just reinforcing 'sit' helps to calm them down.
Hope your dog walker can make him a bit better on walks.

Dogs eh? Just had Phoebe at the specialist vet. She’s been struggling with mobility in a leg for a while. Had her at our vets who did investigation for arthritis etc, couldn’t find what was wrong. She’s been on painkillers for a while. It looks like the £400 consultant payment has diagnosed a groin muscle injury that needs more medication and physio therapy.
