Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I wondered. These two are a bit flat today. To be fair they had a lively time last week as we’ve given them more opportunities to run around when we’ve been out.

so the vet just called me and his kidney markers are not improving - one has "got worse"
next I need to get the first wee sample in the morning to send for full analysis at the lab rather than the stick-dip the vet did on Thursday.

OTOH, he's more lively today and is eating - unfortunately, what he wants to eat is chunks of roast beef and maybe high protein isn't what he needs right now.

There’s been a tummy bug around here too, Dave. Poppy suffered from vomiting, no appetite (and she’s a Labrador!) and diarrhoea. Lasted about 36 hours.

So sorry to hear that Rosehip, on the positive though good to hear his appetite is improving. Sending best wishes for some helpful information from sample.

Our *whispers* cat had kidney problems caused in some way by bad teeth, although I’m sure your vet has already checked things like that...
How are you going to get a pee sample? I wouldn’t know where to start!
I do hope it throws up some useful answers xx

Glad Ralph is brighter and hope the tests don't reveal anything horrid, Rosehip xx

If you have a medium to large sized boy-dog (that’s a tautology, sorry) and a jam jar, it’s actually relatively easy to get a urine sample. You might want to have some wet wipes handy though...

Fingers crossed his kidney function is just lagging a bit behind his recovery.

- she hasn't mentioned his teeth - which are not good...
I shall be very quick with a sterilised jam jar, AtC - they didn't give me a sample pot so I guess any decanting required can be done when I take it in.
