We went back to agility yesterday and Jet coped well. He started to take slightly shorter steps with his back right leg towards the end so I rested him, and he slept well when we got home. I hope that means the injury wasn't too serious.

I was walking Rory at the weekend and a man coming the other way said ‘he walks well on the lead, for a spaniel.’ :-o Not a sentence I ever expected to hear!

He still woke me up at 6 this morning, barking at birds. Just to prove he’s not *totally* grown up.

So nice when something like that happens Maz.
I nearly cried when someone with another dog paid us a compliment about Wanda's behaviour for the first time - makes such a difference from 'keep that thing away from our dog' and other such charming Staffie-ist that she was more used to at the time....

That's lovely Mazlin, you've done a cracking job :)

Ralph started being sick yesterday evening, couldn't even keep water down this morning. I thought it was due to the Metacam, so did as the label said and straight to vets this morning. He's dehydrated and they're going to put him on a drip and take bloods.
IF he's OK, this vet (same practice, new-to-me vet) is adamant that we should have the surgery on his knee, contradicting the other one so now I wish we'd done it straight away.

( I hope I get to make the decision but not having a good feeling about this sickness on top of everything else. gut feeling it's all linked to something not good)

Poor Ralph. :-(

There is some kind of dog-virus around the country at the moment that has symptoms like that - lots of discussion in the training club we go to about how long dogs should be isolated for (sound familiar??) Vet friend who trains with us though says they don’t really know yet what is causing it or how it spreads (one of her dogs has had it, the other not at all.)

vet said there is "a bug" about but because I'd said he had one small squitty moment this morning she thought it wasn't that. I'd not come across it before, so don't think it's "rife" around here as yet -
