Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I'm surprised they need cooling towers. Are they for the snow?

It feels so China to have an expensive chilled high quality free ski jump right in the middle of what looks like Sheffield!

I just checked they're part of what used to be a steel mill, the mill was shut in 2008 before the summer Olympics because of the pollution it used to spew out.

Apparently it's a gree eco regeneration area!

That's quite cool then actually. I did presume it wasn't just a working facility otherwise it would have been a very very odd location to choose.

BBC iPlayer coverage has been good so far - I've been getting in at the end of the day and using their "must see" 15-20 minute programmes on the key medal events to catch up with the best bits.

Luge doubles has got to be one of most undignified-looking sports in the games.

When did Steve Cram become a curling expert - "it's a hard curl on the draw side, but at least GB have the hammer in this end..." eh, what?! :-) G

I know most will be at silly o'clock so maybe leave details until after the highlights programme or use the spoiler.
