I'm chuffed to bits about this snake's head fritillary. I have planted bulbs fairly nearby in the garden (in the bit that's practically under water today!) but this is the first self / bird/ bee sown one which has appeared beneath our willow tree

Wonderful, OS! Your pictured woods are a couple of weeks ahead of frozen Yorkshire though. There's a few little hints of blueness here and there, but not the great swathes we get when Spring actually get here.
