Jock: Oh, sorry to hear that. I know what you mean about the effect it has -- all my off-grid running this week has felt, in some sense, "wasted".

Has anyone tried changing the category of a training entry yet, to see whether it has a resultant effect on your square points? In theory, the game checks every ten mins for any changes to categories.

I wonder if it would be possible to develop an ankle tag that can detect if you are straying outside your grid and give you a little shock if you do?

(But I have knocked up a prototype iPhone app that tracks me through squares and can give alerts if I leave the grid!)

Fetch - I went for a walk yesterday evening. I have an older Garmin (and can't figure an easy way to change the default settings) so it originally uploaded as a run - I changed the training category afterwards.
I didn't check at the time of upload but my game grid does have squares with odd numbers where I would have expected even numbers following a run. Looks a reasonable indication that something happened correctly.

I uploaded a run instead of a walk this morning - changed it straight away
