Potentially Maz - yes. If he's focussed on a particular area of the grid to the neglect of the rest then you may be able to grab more by hoovering up the squares he's not bothering with. Conversely, if he's going for global domination with multiple daily activities through large number of squares then you may just have to sit back in admiration like the rest of us
