Being rude to the waiter is a definite red flag though.

Quite a few of those are red flags but ordering water isn't one of them...

Some of them make a kind of sense but if you applied them all you won’t get beyond a first date with anyone.

I think I just won’t bother going on a date if people are like that. And who would go out for dinner as a date, people who can afford to eat out I suppose

I believe the article has achieved its desired aim on here.

Is there an aim tho' Fozzy? I didn't read past the Americanism " jonesing". Author trying to be cool? You're not. The writer's a manic, judgemental twat. That's all.

The aim of the article is to provoke the type of reaction we have seen on here to it.
Comments, clicks, arguments etc.
It's rubbish "journalism" deliberately designed to provoke a reaction. Clickbait essentially.

I mean it's obvious - if you go on a date, you're going to be judged harshly on everything you say, do, don't do, don't say, how you look, etc etc etc.
That's just standard.
And there's always going to be something wrong.
So everything is a "red flag!"
Easier just to not do it.

I'd take onion breath over fag breath.
I once had a date with someone who turned up late smelling of garlic. She said she had been eating hummus and forgot the time.
