My thoughts are that dating sites are broadly the same. You’ll get more serious prospects on a paid site but most people seem to try more than one site, judging by seeing the same photos, and some seem to be perpetual daters. It’s just trying to sift through the dross and find the right person.
I definitely had a better hit rate on Match than POF.

It does require effort I find. I go through phases, and spend a week or two reading profiles, sending messages and sifting before getting annoyed or fed up and hiding the profile again!
I’m not really interested long term in my current date, evidenced by the fact I’m not itching to see him again, but he’s good company for now.

Phook, shame in a way MaPhook is now Oop North with you, as it would be nice to see you and Mini again. Doubt I will be over your way any time soon. These days, with cat, happily 5 years old and my very best of friends, chickens and a massive garden with greenhouse with tomatoes to water, I feel pretty tied to the area...
ION I was gardening at my lovely Taiji teacher's yesterday and there was Simon... He is staying for a month to help re-decorate/paint and help with the grass etc while our teacher is away on retreat. It seems, after a shared cup of herbal tea (he offered) and several interesting conversations, that we are both looking forward to seeing each other again next week
