Forgot to turn off my 6am alarm before going to bed last night. I silenced it this morning then slept in until 7:45. I was expecting a workman at 8 so rushed to get up and ready. He’s not arrived yet.

Our printer has died. Smeary black streaks. Did a head-clean routine and... it won't print black at all now.

My first software job was at ICL, yes, ICL. I worked on the Officepower product. My favourite memory is of a developer called D, who once said 'there be Dragons in them printers'. He once introduced a bug that caused the printer to punt out a whole empty page after each carriage return, but with only a certain combination of how and sw, the configuration belonging to our company director :-). How we all laughed!

Inspired by "The Repair Shop" my OH did a proper repair job earlier this week on an ornament which had been held together by tape for many years.
Guess what I knocked over today ...............
